With an extensive 35-year background in fitness, Debra stands as an esteemed international fitness presenter, collaborating with prestigious associations like the International Council on Active Aging, IDEA, NSCA, Athletic Business, and CanFitPro. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Exercise Science and Exercise & Sports Psychology from Iowa State University, where she later held a Senior Lecturer role for 15 years. Debra's teaching legacy encompasses foundational courses for Kinesiology majors, preparing them for leadership roles in the fitness realm, and overseeing Kinesiology major internships even after her classroom departure.
Certified by the American Council on Exercise and the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Debra's influence extends across the globe. She's a dynamic international presenter, gracing events such as IDEA Personal Training Institute, Congress, World, and Fact Fest, Can-Fit-Pro, National Strength and Conditioning Association's Personal Training Congress and National Conference, International Council On Active Aging, Athletic Business Conference, MedFit, SCW, and FitnessFest.
As an ACE Faculty CEC provider, Debra's specialization encompasses Hormone Balancing Exercise Prescription via the Flipping 50 Fitness Specialist. Beyond fitness insights, she excels in customer service, marketing, and sales strategies to elevate personal training businesses. Her commendable roles include being part of IDEA's Personal Trainer of the Year award selection committee, a Subject Matter Expert, an item writer for ACE's Medical Exercise Specialist exam, a Health Coach, and Personal Trainer certifications.
